As the third event of Winter Roots Festival, Brian Wallen and Erin Colwitz will be holding a workshop on Saturday, March 21st, from 11 am-12 pm at The Hiawatha Fold on the history of protest songs. Dr. Erin Colwitz (Professor of Music, NMU) and singer/songwriter Brian Wallen will offer a historical perspective on protest music and its impact, as well as current examples and songwriting tips for participants interested in writing their own protest songs.
