FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Provided below are answers to some frequently asked questions. Please note that questions will be updated as additional information allows. We realize not all questions will be answered at one time. Our team is collecting answers from all of the area leaders and responding to questions from those involved in the Festival.  Additional questions may be directed to festival@hiawathamusic.org.

 

General

  • Is the 2026 Festival still going on?

    The 2026 Hiawatha Music Co-op Festival has been cancelled on Sunday, July 19th.

 

  • Why was it cancelled?

    The Festival was cancelled due to the continued unpredictability of air quality over the next two days with recommendations from the medical advisors.

 

  • Where can I get food while on site?

    Vendors have offered to have food accessible for those wrapping up Festival activities.

 

Volunteer

  • I have a volunteer shift; do I still show up?

    We are shifting to essential volunteers only. Shifts assisting with Security, Tear Down, and Info Tent are encouraged to arrive for their shift – IF THEY FEEL COMFORTABLE. Those on-site can get additional information at the Info Tent volunteer table. Masks are available at the info tent if you need one.

 

  • I would like to volunteer to assist with the teardown. What do I do? 

    If you are already a registered volunteer, we welcome your assistance – IF YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE. Please see info tent to adjust your volunteer obligation.

 

  • I was scheduled to volunteer today/turn in my volunteer card. What do I do? Will I get reimbursed?

    If you were scheduled to fill a volunteer shift today (Sunday/Monday), that will be honored as part of your reimbursement.

 

Musicians

  • I have a scheduled set/workshop. What do I do?

    Outreach has been made to musicians/workshop leaders; all programming is cancelled. If you have questions, please contact your Monitor or Area Coordinator using the contact information provided.

 

  • Will musicians be compensated?

    All musicians will be compensated based on their contracted rate, regardless if they were able to perform or not.

 

Vendors

  • What should vendors do?

    All vendors have been communicated with directly.

 

  • How do I support vendors?

    Individuals are encouraged to stop by the vendor booths as they prepare to wrap up their activities to make final purchases. Additional information is being prepared to encourage people to visit their stores or other exhibitions to provide support in the coming week.

 

Campers/Participants

  • I have a campsite. What do I do?

    Campers are encouraged to tear down and safely leave the park. Individuals who choose to remain in the park to attend to personal or volunteer obligations are asked to leave by noon on Monday, July 19th.  It is critical that you continue to monitor air quality. Masks are available at the info tent.

 

  • I left and still need to get my camping/chairs/etc. and need to pick it up. What do I do?

    Individuals are encouraged to come to the park to pick up their items today (Sunday). You must have a wristband to enter (as identification of your previous entry) to limit additional members of the public as we work to tear down equipment. Back Gate is open for pickup.
