FESTIVAL GUIDELINES AND RULES
- Everyone MUST have fun! We encourage everyone to take in the full array of Festival music, workshops, dancing, arts and crafts, and other activities! Please be responsible for yourself! Enjoy adult beverages in moderation. On occasion, we do escort unruly or irresponsible patrons off Festival grounds.
- Everyone MUST wear a wristband on his/her wrist in plain sight at all times – If we observe someone on festival grounds without a wristband or with a fake wristband, that person will be ticketed with trespassing, issued a citation, and escorted off of festival grounds.
- We install a large tent near the north east area at Main Stage for folks with special circumstances to use for coverage from the elements or easy access to and from handicapped parking.
- Since 2017, Tourist Park NO LONGER allows anyone to bring in their own firewood due to the Emerald Ash Borer infestation. Please follow these rules and plan to purchase wood at the office at Tourist Park.
- Please GO GREEN! ZERO WASTE! Take care of your trash and recycling. DO NOT LEAVE trash or recycling items behind when you leave! Leave no trace! Familiarize yourself with our recycle bins near Second Stage.
- No above-ground fires! All fires must be in the Tourist Park fire rings. PLEASE BURN ONLY WOOD OR PAPER – NO PLASTICS, SYNTHETICS, ETC.
- Absolutely no pets allowed. See the Service Animals and Pets page on this website.
- Camping is only allowed in designated areas. You must have a tag for each camping unit, tent, trailer, or screen house, etc.
- Campers must maintain at least four feet between camping shelters.
- Camping shelters should be at least 10 feet from fires.
- Absolutely no bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, hoverboards, or Segue-type conveyances allowed in the concession area or on the adjacent road.
- NEW THIS YEAR: E-bikes or bikes powered by other means are permitted only for riders 18 and over. Avoid using the throttle if at all possible. We are currently evaluating this rule. Please don't be the reason Hiawatha must ban all e-bikes.
- Drumming after sunset is allowed in Area D only. No drumming after 1 a.m. local time.
- A curfew of midnight is in effect for children under the age of 18. Disruptive people, including teens and their parents, will be removed from the Festival and wristbands will be confiscated.
- Underage drinking as well as any person engaged in illegal activities risk arrest by the Marquette City Police and permanent removal of the Festival.
- Camping tags must be attached to each camping unit and you must camp in the designated Area for which you have registered.
- Small chairs (those that have a seat that touches the ground) are permitted on the “Blanket Side” of the Main Stage. No other chairs are permitted on this side.
- NO laser pointers, flying discs or balls are allowed in any stage or workshop area.
- Playing of recorded and/or amplified music is not allowed.
- Tokens should be used to purchase food items from contracted vendors only. Tokens can be purchased at the Info Tent near the Food Concessions row.
- All vehicles, cars, bikes, skateboards, scooters, rollerbladers, hoverboards should limit speed to a slow walking pace for safety. Parents! Please monitor your children's bike riding around Festival grounds! We monitor dangerous bike riding and may ask a child to park their bike for the remainder of the festival.
- The ADA requires that Service Animals are allowed anywhere on the Festival grounds. Service Animals are individually trained to perform a task that mitigates the owner's disability.
- Festival Volunteers engaged in consuming alcohol before or during a Volunteer Shift will be released from their duty and forego compensation for that shift.
- Any vehicle parked on Festival grounds without a Parking Pass will be towed at owners expense.
- Please refrain from smoking in seating area at Main Stage, immediately around Second Stage, in the food concession area and the Children's Area.
