Songwriter’s Woodshed: The Make-Believe Spurs

Songwriter’s Woodshed is back! We are thrilled to have our first SW of 2026 be hosted by The Make-Believe Spurs. Listen, or bring a song/instrument, and get feedback from your fellow music peers. No experience necessary! We hold these events to give a space to the community to share music, receive feedback, and find inspiration. Feel free to just come listen as well!

About The Make-Believe Spurs:

Our first guest artists at Songwriter’s Woodshed this season are the Make-Believe Spurs! They have been making music together since ‘22. Inspired by the likes of Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, & John Prine, their sound flows from intimate harmonies to high-energy, dance-worthy performances. They’ve played venues across the U.P. and beyond, including the Hiawatha Music Festival, Kaufman Auditorium, Crystal Theater, Bay College, and they opened for Bernie Sanders at NMU in ‘24. Guitarist/vocalist Brian Wallen is a 2nd place winner of the Int’l Blues Challenge and an aspiring birder. Molly Wallen, a classically trained vocalist with opera roots, finds joy in crosswords & crocheting. Drummer/vocalist Mavis Farr, studied West African percussion at Oakland University and is also a talented silversmith. Frequent guest Andy Langlois is an accomplished songwriter, performer, and also happens to be a co-founder of Blackrocks Brewery. https://themakebelievespurs.com/
