HOTAP: Ruby John and John Warstler

Join us on May 21st from 6-8 pm at the Ore Dock Brewing Company for an evening of music featuring Ruby Johns and John Warstler! 

The duo of Ruby John and John Warstler formed out of their contra dance band, The Johns. The band was formed twelve years ago. Ruby and John have performed as a duo for the past six years and they recently played at the University of Chicago Folk Festival, the Ten Pound Fiddle concert series, the Indiana Fiddlers’ Gathering and the Emerald Isle Feile, on Beaver Island. The Johns have also played the Ten Pound Fiddle’s largest dance on New Year’s Eve eight consecutive years. This has given them the opportunity to play for nationally renown callers which has led to The Johns being asked to play at the Whitewater Whirl Contra Dance Weekend this coming May in Fayetteville, West Virginia.
