MICHAEL MONROE, MINNESOTA MASTER ACOUSTIC MUSICIAN, PERFORMS AT HIAWATHA ON TAP FINALE

Hiawatha Music Co-op is excited to welcome Minnesota Acoustic Master Michael Monroe to the stage at Ore Dock Brewing Co. for the last Hiawatha on Tap event of the season.  Monroe’s music is nothing short of mesmerizing. His full, rich baritone voice is reminiscent of Gordon Lightfoot and Cat Stevens (or are they reminiscent of him?).  Monroe’s music reaches into the soul with well-crafted songwriting and evocative fingerstyle guitar work.  The combination wraps around you like a warm blanket.  He also plays wood and crystal flutes in his performances, and with the masterful use of live digital looping, he layers the music and the effect is sonic bliss.  Goosebumps guaranteed.  Monroe commands a ticket price of at least $40 elsewhere, but Hiawatha is bringing him here at the affordable price of $5 for Hiawatha members and $10 for non-members. Kids under 12 are free. Get to know him now, and hope to see him again on the Hiawatha Festival Mainstage!

While most Hiawatha on Tap events have a party atmosphere, this event is different.  It will be more concert-like than most Hiawatha on Tap events, and is an opportunity to do what we don’t do very often: listen deeply and intentionally.  Michael Monroe’s performances deserve a listening environment and are best enjoyed by immersing oneself in the experience.  We will ask that conversation during the performance be kept at a minimum so that all can fully enjoy the performance.

Ore Dock Brewing Co. is located at 114 W. Spring Street in Marquette.  The music begins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
