Hiawatha purchases flatbed trailer for Festival Dance Stage
September 24, 2019
The Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival has benefitted from the Meyer Yamaha, Inc. generosity for many, many years. This generosity came in the form of their flatbed trailer that they used to transport the rented golf carts to Tourist Park. Once we off loaded the carts, they allowed us to use their trailer for our stage in the Dance Tent, free of charge. A few years ago, Meyer Yamaha let us know that they intended to sell the flatbed trailer and would give Hiawatha first choice on a purchase. Well, the time came to us in the spring of this year. The decision was to either make the purchase or let it go and find something to replace it. The Board weighed the pros and cons of purchasing the flatbed or looking for a new stage system for the Dance Tent and voted to make the purchase. It was a hefty expenditure for Hiawatha at $2,800.
As it was Festival time, the Board wanted to delay any fundraising until a later time, and so now that time is upon us. We have had a few generous donations from 3 parties totaling $1,300, so now we are hoping to raise the remaining $1,500 to cover the cost of the flatbed. If you are so inclined, please click on the link below and make your donation today. The Hiawatha Music Co-op is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization so your donate is 100% tax deductible.
As always we appreciate your support and donation!
