Annual Membership Meeting with the Ukulele Kings! November 2, 2019
August 28, 2019
Our annual Membership Meeting
will be held at the Barrel and Beam brewery on Northwoods road in Marquette. This is a time to greet your Hiawatha family, meet new friends, vote for new Board Members and learn more about the Co-op. We honor our Members each year with a dinner and dance to say Thank You for your time, talents and contributions. We encourage you to bring a friend who may not be acquainted with the wonderful events that Hiawatha puts on every year!
The dinner will start at 5pm. Bring a tasty side dish to add to our buffet. Hiawatha will be serving up the Main Courses, compliments of the NMU Culinary School. Our Business Meeting will begin around 6:15pm and will include financial reports, Festival reports and Board of Directors elections. Once the business meeting concludes, we will host the Ukulele Kings for a fun loving dance! Children and youth are welcome! We have a table with crafts and activities for the young Hiawathians!
The Ukulele Kings are a fun and involving all-ukulele trio featuring tasty and clever originals along with select covers you never would have expected to hear on the uke. All members of the combo are veterans of the Lansing music scene; songwriters and ukulele players Ben Hassenger and Patrick Malloy played for years together in the legendary band Mystic Shake and bassist Steve Szilagyi laid down the foundation for the alt-country band The Weepers. Great for parties, festivals, corporate events, and more – contact Ben at email@example.com for more information and booking. Check out the videos below to get a taste of the Kings, more are available to watch and listen to on their YouTube playlist.
If you are interested in serving on our Board of Directors, please see our Board Meeting pages with minutes, agendas and By-laws for more information.
