2019 Fall Master Artist Concert and Workshop with Mountain Birch Duo, Paul Brown and Terri McMurray

Join us October 18th and 19th for a taste of good ole’ traditional tunes from North Carolina and Southern Virginia with this dynamic husband and wife team Terri McMurray and Paul Brown. Hear mostly true stories, traditional songs and instrumentals as they rotate through their many instruments including 5 string banjo, banjo uke, guitar, fiddle and voices.
The Concert on Friday, October 18th will be held at the Peter White Public Library, Community Room with a $5 donation to Hiawatha Music Co-op Concert and Event fund. Concert begins at 7pm. Children under 12 are free.
A workshop on Saturday, October 19th will be held at the Hiawatha Music Co-op office at 1015 N. Third Street, Village Shopping Center from 10-11:30am with a donation of $10 to the Hiawatha Music Co-op Concert and Event fund. This will be on the Round Peak style of old time music, including some history and culture of the Round Peak sound which centers in the communities between Mt. Airy, North Caroline and Galax, Virginia. This historically important music continues to thrive in the area today. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instrument to play along with Terri and Paul.
